Since I was very young I always loved watching faces and eventually began drawing them. I have studied different types of art both formally and informally, but most of my experience came in later life when I started focusing on the human face. So I started out roughly but persisted and drew everyone who would let me and often quite a few would ask me to do just that. I drew--and I still draw-- for charitable activities to solicit donations. So a lot of my art skills have been acquired through my experiences. A face is like a fingerprint -- no other exists in the entire universe (except a twin). I never imagined that my love of drawing faces would eventually become my passion, and I am so grateful that it happened that way. I am now a freelance artist, which gives me more time to work on my own art in ways I see fit. Because of the freedom of freelancing, my artistic life today is much more interesting since I have the satisfaction of rendering a lasting focal point that is both enjoyable and good for the spirit.
For many years, I have had an extreme passion for the beauty of realism in portrait drawing and have undertaken this as my goal. I strive to get better every day. Realism reveals an absolute truth of what is and captures a moment preserved for all of time and that is priceless. When it comes to portraits, a simple picture can reveal a personality at its very best or capture a mood that will never be again. You may wish to isolate an image of a loved one from one photo with that of another and have a rendition of both in one piece. I am also experienced in rendering drawings in the multimedia of pastel, charcoal, pencil, ink and digital art.
